Full Description
Our client is a Local Authority in Essex which requires a Planning Officer to join their Development Management team to manage their own caseload of planning applications. These are expected to be householder and minor applications which you will assess and process, ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, policies, and guidance. You will p7repare reports, recommendations, and supporting documentation for internal and external stakeholders, including Members, developers, and the public.
To apply you will have an undergraduate degree in Planning, Urban Planning, Geography, Environmental Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience and eligibility to work towards Membership of the Royal Town Planning Institute (MRTPI) or equivalent professional body. Ideally have recent experience within a local authority development management team, however, consultancy experience is also welcome. A good grasp of UK planning legislation is required and you will need to have good communication skills and a positive attitude towards furthering your knowledge and gaining more technical experience. A relevant town planning degree is required.
The rate offered is between £35-£40/hr umbrella depending on your experience. This role is insider IR35.
It is initially a 3 month contract but could be a rolling contract.
Our client offers a hybrid working arrangement, you will work from the office twice a week.
