Our client is a local authority based in Bedfordshire and they require a Planning Enforcement Officer to join them for a contract and work in their heavily populated, rapidly developing borough just north of London. This is a customer-focused role and you will assist in the timely and appropriate conclusion of planning enforcement cases, both new and historic. You will be responsible for providing expert technical advice at every stage of an enforcement case. On a daily basis you will be completing reports on enforcement investigations, carrying out site visits and interviews where required, and representing the Council at committee meetings.
Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
The role will initially last for 3 months but is fully expected to extend and roll on for some time so this is a great opportunity to gain some very solid central London experience.
