Our client is a Local Authority in Devon which is recruiting for an experienced Planner to join their Planning Enforcement Team for a contract role. This is a customer-focused role and you will assist in the timely and appropriate conclusion of planning enforcement cases, both new and historic.
You will be responsible for providing expert technical advice at every stage of an enforcement case. On a daily basis you will be completing reports on enforcement investigations, carrying out site visits and interviews where required, and representing the Council at committee meetings.
In addition to your own more complex cases, you will be responsible for offering advice and guidance to colleagues within the Enforcement Team and managing, investigating and resolving planning, listed building and tree enforcement inquiries. You will also prepare and serve statutory notices, monitor compliance with notices, and where necessary will collate and prepare evidence for prosecutions and planning appeals.
Recent work experience in the field is essential and your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
This will initially be a 3 month contract with the potential for extension. Our client is offering between £40-£45/hr Umbrella, this role is inside IR35.
Our client offers hybrid working (combination of home/office). Sites visits will be required to be carried out in South and West Devon
