Our client is a Local Authority based in the East Midlands and they require a Planning Assistant to join their Planning Department for a contract role. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with some experience in a town planning setting to support the Development Management, Enforcement and Building Control Teams. Your duties will include vetting and processing planning applications, compiling and downloading information from the planning portal and compiling relevant documentation required to progress planning applications. You will also be required to join site visits and provide administrative support.
You will also have the opportunity to assist in the preparation of reports to Committee and in accordance with the Council's scheme of delegation to the Head of Planning and building Control for planning applications and planning briefs.
The role would be perfect for a Town Planning Graduate with some previous related work experience and an understanding of UK planning administration and terminology. It is important that you can handle complex, detailed information and you have the ability to respond and provide accurate information when required.
This is a contract role which will initially be offered for 3 months though it could be extended and the rate will be between £15-£17/hr umbrella.
