Our client is a Local Authority in Essex and they require a degree qualified Town Planner to carry out a role within their award winning Planning Team (Development Management). Your work will focus on dealing with a caseload of planning applications and you will be providing expert technical advice at every stage. On a daily basis you will be completing reports, carrying out site visits where required and representing the Council at committee.
You will not necessarily need a high level of experience for this role and our client will consider those who can show good knowledge of the UK planning system and current planning legislation alongside recent experience of processing planning applications (ideally within another London authority). You will need a basic understanding of the context of planning policy on the planning decision process and you must be able to work well under pressure.
The role will be offered for an initial 6 month period but there is a possibility to will be extended and the rate offered is between £22 - £28 p/hr depending on experience.
