Our client, based in South Wales are looking 1 permanent EHO position, plus a temporary EHO and temporary SEHO (both 1-year fixed term contracts).
Because of the current work focus, in carrying out inspections of some of the more high risk and complex premises, and with a greater likelihood of statutory interventions needing to be relied upon, then they would be keen to appoint someone with significant and recent experience of dealing with this category of business.
The candidate will have experience of undertaking assessments and issuing ratings under the Food Hygiene Rating Scheme as applied in Wales, where a statutory scheme applies and where significant work has been taken to ensure LA consistency in the interpretation of the Brand Standard. Due to the fact that resources are currently overstretched and they have significantly diminished capacity at the management/supervisory level, now more than ever they need someone who is able to effectively hit the ground running and not require too much oversight and direction.
Similarly their officers assess and enforce both food hygiene and food standards requirements during these visits and we would want to mirror this approach.
The EHO positions is G8 with a salary of up to £36,298. The SEHO is G9 with a salary of up to £41,496.
