Full Description

Our client in East London is looking to fill the position of Monitoring and Review Officer working within Children and Young People's services. You will play a vital support role to the Group Manager and Head of Service in the development, delivery and review of high standards in education planning, performance and commissioning of integrated services for children, young people, their families and carers.

A key focus of your role will be value for money and you will work with various managers to ensure that the assigned budget meets group objectives, that financial governance arrangements are followed and that programmes/projects are completed within budget.

Other key duties will include acting as a key contact for a family where children have EHCs and high needs funding requirements. You will act as a reviewing officer for Education, Health and Care Plans and ensure the smooth running of the process. At all times you will work to ensure that Education, Health and Care Plans are within the requirements of national legislation and guidance. You will represent the local authority in meetings with schools and early years settings where provision has been commissioned for pupils with SEN.

We are looking for those with a strong background in projects / contracts management and / or commissioning. A strong knowledge of the SEN Code of Practice for 0:25 years is required and you will need a good understanding of the relevant legal, political, operational, commercial and social community aspects of working in this kind of environment.

You will experience of effectively managing competing priorities within a complex workload and you will need practical evidence of developing and maintaining good working relationships with families. It is essential that you can work well under pressure as you will be joining a busy team.

The role is based in East London, expected to last at least 3 months and will pay £300/day (umbrella).
