Our client based in the East midlands is looking to appoint an experienced Team Leader for their Local Plan team.
You will lead the Team and manage the preparation, implementation, and review of the statutory local development framework for the Borough to realise our clients vision and objectives for sustainable development.
You will manage the staff within the Local Plans team and provide supervision to assist them in undertaking complex and challenging assignments to ensure a coordinated and appropriate approach to local plan activity. You will also ensure the coordinated implementation of adopted development plan policies and the application of non-statutory policies, standards, and guidelines through the provision of advice on planning applications, engagement in pre application enquiries and project management of specific initiatives.
To apply you will need to have a significant level of previous planning policy experience and proven line management experience. You will need to have a good breadth of knowledge in relation to policy development and you will need a thorough understanding of UK planning legislation. As a Policy Team Leader you will need to be willing to undertake lead responsibility on certain projects so you will need to be confident in your knowledge and you will need good communication skills and the ability to work well with others. A relevant degree level qualification is essential and ideally you will have professional accreditation.
This contract will initially run or 12 weeks but could be extended, and the rate offered is £70/hr Umbrella. This job is inside IR35.
Our client offers hybrid working with 1 day based in the office and 4 days based at home.
