Our client is a London Local Authority and they require 4 Local Economies Officers to join them for contract roles.
These roles sit within our clients 'Economic Development' team and you will assist with projects and schemes to enhance the local area and business community.
The successful candidates will project manage inclusive economy initiatives, projects and events in our clients town centres and other key employment areas, such as business support programmes, affordable workspace activities, skills and employment activities, consultation events, marketing and promotional initiatives, physical projects, festivals and events, etc.
You will also facilitate, support and undertake support functions for business networks, such as Town Centre Management Groups and stakeholder working groups, ensuring that local businesses and key stakeholders are fully engaged in Inclusive Economy initiatives and development programmes.
You will attend meetings and co-ordinate actions amongst internal colleagues and external stakeholders. You will prepare briefing and advice notes as well as undertaking research and information gathering activity. You can expect to be working on a number of projects simultaneously and you will be expected to manage your own busy schedule in line with key project milestones.
Previous experience in a similar capacity for a local authority is absolutely essential alongside high level IT skills and the ability to work well under pressure. Formal qualifications such as PRINCE 2 would be a distinct advantage.
These roles will initially be offered for 3 months but could be extended beyond this and they will be home working roles. You will be paid a rate of £25.50/hr (inside IR35).
