As Lead Officer – Building Control you will work with management and colleagues to define outcomes, set targets and monitor performance.
You will represent the service in Magistrates Court, providing witness statements where appropriate. One of the key features of the role will be dealing with emergency action in connection with dangerous structures reported to the Council under the provisions of the London Building Acts (Amendment Act) 1939 and you will oversee the appointment of external contractors which can be outside normal hours.
You will be involved in a range of commercial activity that will routinely involve you with complex partner arrangement and you will be accountable for the delivery of building control contracts. This includes contract monitoring and adherence to new and changing legislation.
We are looking for an experienced manager who holds and maintains a licence with the Building Safety Regulator in line with the requirements of a Registered Building Inspector. It is vital that you can build strong internal and external working partnerships to enable the service to be delivered in an outcome-focused and efficient way.
The day rate is £506 and the initial contract will likely be 3-6 months. Our client is a Local Authority in South West London.
