Our client is a local authority based in South Yorkshire and they require 2 qualified Town Planners to carry out roles within their Development Management Team. They require both a Senior Planner and a Planning Officer. Both roles will examine and evaluate all types of planning applications made under the Town and Country Planning Acts and related legislation, provide pre-application advise, assess whether proposals are in accordance with Council's policies and liaise with officers of other directorates on matters arising from planning.
The Planning Officer post will require a someone with at least a years experience of working in a similar post with a Local Authority of a similar size and managing a large caseload of minor and householder applications. You will be required to do this with limited supervision.
The Senior Level Planner will have the opportunity to work on complex medium and major applications and appeals.
Recent work experience is essential as both posts will require you to work remotely. Your knowledge of current planning legislation and guidelines will need to be fully up to date. You will need to have good communication skills as you will be dealing with a wide range of stakeholders on a daily basis to convey complex, detailed information in a clear, concise format.
These contracts will be offered for 3 months and the rates offered will be between £24 - £33/hr inside IR35 depending on the role and your experience. These will be home working roles though you will be required to carry out your own site visits.
