Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for an Enforcement Support Officer to join our client's Town Planning Enforcement Team in Berkshire. This role is with a Local Authority which is at the early stages of a huge programme of regeneration which is due to run for the next decade. It is therefore a great Borough to join as you will have the opportunity to gain invaluable experience in a busy and dynamic authority.
You will be required to provide technical and administrative support to the Enforcement Planning team working under supervision to contribute to delivery of the council's objectives and priorities. Specifically you will have involvement with appeals cases which required efficient and accurate processing and a key function of your role will be registering and validating appeals and reports of unauthorised development. You will act to ensure that ensure that the service dates and compliance periods of all enforcement notices and planning contravention notices are accurately recorded on the relevant database.
Other aspects to the role will include ensuring that all planning contravention notices are served via recorded delivery, preparing background information relating to properties and sites and preparing electronic enforcement case files prior to investigation by professional officers. You will also respond to customer enquiries regarding planning appeals and general enforcement enquiries.
To apply you will need a relevant town planning degree, good communication skills and some work experience within an Enforcement Team in a local authority would be beneficial. Initially this will be a 3 month contract with an hourly rate of up to £18p/hr. Please contact us for full details.
