Full Description

As Head of Property you will oversee the management of our client's property investment portfolio. This consists of over £380m worth of assets, currently delivering c£16m of rental income. Our client has one particularly large multi-disciplinary regen scheme of about £200m in value and you will be heavily involved in steering this project. Other schemes include the development of large infrastructure including an 85,000 sq ft business park as part of the Council's employment creation programme.

Following the Covid-19 emergency, it is anticipated that there will be a significant number of rental reviews and property related investment decisions this role will have to decide or make recommendations on.

You will manage a small capable team, who are able to work independently but will also depend upon you to lead by example and to share your technical expertise to achieve efficient solutions to the challenges they are currently facing.

As a senior member of staff you will work with colleagues across the Council, particularly the Group Head of Place Shaping to carry out strategic and financial assessment of other Council owned sites which may have development potential. You will be expected to contribute significantly towards the shaping and delivery of the Council's asset management strategy.

You will operate as a key point of contact with your network including council Members, the Programme Management Board and senior level key within third party organisations, such as those involved in JV projects.

You will need to be someone with an extensive proven track record in a similar capacity with the ability to deliver under difficult circumstances. You will need to be decisive and focused in your work and you will need to have advanced communication skills with the ability to confidently represent the Council's interests and the ability to foster successful working relationships with a wide scope of stakeholders.

The role is based in Hertfordshire, will run at least 6 months, probably longer and they are looking to pay up to £800/day (umbrella). They are open to a 4 or 5 day work pattern. The role is inside IR35.
