Our client is a Local Authority based in Yorkshire and they are seeking an experienced Head of Planning Manager for an interim role to lead their Development Management, Strategic Planning, Urban and Environmental Design and Enforcement teams. You will effectively lead the delivery of the portfolio strategic outcomes for the borough which will require collective responsibility and collaborative working across the Portfolio, SCC, the City and the Region.
Applicants for this post must be qualified Town Planners with experience of local authority town planning at management level. Your strong technical knowledge of UK planning legislation will need to be complimented with good management skills and the confidence and ability to direct the above service areas. Critical to this role will be the ability to communicate effectively and to engage in negotiations that can often be sensitive and complex so you will need to be able to engage productively with third parties to develop good relationships that ensure successful development.
The post is initially offered as a 3 month contract with the potential for an extensions and the role will be inside IR35. The director and panel would like to meet and select from the possible interim candidates week commencing 14 January 2019.
