Full Description

Our client is looking for a very well established senior management level candidate to take up the role of Interim Director of Procurement.

They ideally want someone with experience at this level with good market knowledge and connections across London.

You will need to show a significant understanding of the workings of local government and the challenges being set by the new local government agenda. You will need an excellent level of financial acumen alongside an appreciation and understanding of the legal and political context of local government management.

You must be able to demonstrate experience of running full service provision and you will need exceptional leadership skills.

At this level we expect relevant professional accreditation.

Essentially the fundamental objective of your role will be to lead, monitor and develop the procurement service across the Council. You will benchmark performance against other authorities/organisations to inform future improvements and targets and you will ensure the service delivers on KPIs.

A key requirement of the role will be the need to forecast and deliver agreed cost savings, together with a range of additional benefits including social value and improved supplier performance.

The day rate will be £800 per day and the role is inside IR35.
