Full Description

Osborne Richardson have an excellent opportunity for an experienced Interim Building & Development Control Manager to join our client, a busy forward thinking Local Authority based in South London.

Reporting into the Head of Planning & Public Protection you will manage the Council's building and development control service including enforcement and arboriculture, ensuring the maintenance of high technical and professional standards. Your focus will be on maintaining performance indicators as well as carrying out a review of team structure and assist on any changes to JD and PS for permanent recruitment.

You will be required to Act as a Cost Centre Manager and prepare, monitor and manage the capital and revenue budgets for the activities of the section to ensure that resources are managed in accordance with Departmental and Council requirements. You will also be responsible for the managing and monitoring the Planning Delivery Grant Budget and to ensure that resources, including staff paid for out of this budget, are managed and allocated in accordance with DCLG requirements.

To apply for this role it is absolutely essential you have recently worked at this level for a UK Local Authority and hold a relevant degree in Town Planning. A RTPI Membership would be beneficial. Proven service transformation experience and strong people management skills are absolutely essential as you will be managing staff from a diverse range technical disciplines. It is essential that you can work well under pressure and that you can communicate clearly with a wide range of stakeholders. Our client requires someone with good working knowledge of M3 system.

The role is role has initially been released as a 6-8 month contact but could be extended. This role is inside IR35 and the rate offered will be between £600-£700/day depend on your experience.
