Full Description

We have an excellent opportunity to take up a role with our local authority client in East London and help deliver a busy programme of infrastructure development projects. As an Infrastructure Officer you will be required to provide specialist advice on development viability for a wide range of proposed projects. Your input will be key in supporting negotiations and decision making, in particular at pre-application stage. Fundamentally you will serve to help ensure that projects are delivered efficiently and within the context of our clients development plan and wider objectives for the Borough. In order to do this you will analyse, develop and report upon data from a wide range of sources to support strategic decision making and strategy development.

You will take control of your own caseload and will be required to build outline business cases drawing together information including costs and you will need to establish effective working relationships with all service stakeholders in identifying their needs in relation to proposed developments. You will be a point of reference for all queries in relation to the schemes you manage and you will be making full use of your strong S106/CIL knowledge.

To be considered you will need a significant amount of town planning related work experience especially in regards to CIL, and ideally this will have been gained in London. You will need a formal academic qualification such as a town planning degree (or similar) and you will need to have good communication skills and the confidence to take on a role that will require you to engage with a wide range of stakeholders both internally and externally to the Council. You will need good analytical skills and the ability to produce clear and concise report documents that convey complex information in an easily understood format for those who may not be technically grounded in planning related matters.

Initially this will be a 5 month contract but it's likely to be extended beyond this and the rate offered will be up to £25/hr umbrella depending on your experience. Please get in touch for a full job spec.
