Full Description

Our client, based on the South Coast are looking for a Housing Standards Team Leader to improve living conditions for people across the private sector and delivers a wide range of services including the regulation of privately rented accommodation, delivery of financial assistance to enable home owners or tenants to live in a safe home, Disabled Facilities Grants, mandatory HMO Licensing and residential Mobile Home Park Licensing, investigation of allegations of harassment and illegal evictions and Home safety and Telecare services.

You will be asked to lead a team responsible for the regulation of privately rented accommodation, including enforcement of statutory housing standards, licensing of HMO's, empty properties, public health issues, Rent it Right (our landlord accreditation scheme) and our letting agency. You will also be required to undertake one-to-one appraisals and support, setting out team and individual priorities, workload and performance monitoring, and providing help and advice to team members to enhance their knowledge.

To be the right person for this role you need to have at least a BSc (Hons) Degree or equivalent in Environmental Health or equivalent degree in Building Surveying or similar field, be a qualified Environmental Health Officer with a certificate of registration issued by the Environmental Health and have experience managing a team in a local authority environment. In exchange you will be offered an initial contract to the end of March 2019 (possible extension) and pay is negotiable depending on experience.
