Full Description
Our client, based in Hertfordshire, is seeking an experienced Housing Enforcement Officer to join their team on an initial 3-month contract, with the potential for extension. This is a full-time position offering a competitive rate of £45–£50 per hour and a hybrid working arrangement, with a minimum of three days per week spent on-site undertaking inspections and responding to complaints.
The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting HHSRS inspections, with a particular focus on damp and mould and housing disrepair cases. Duties will include identifying category hazards, managing enforcement cases from inspection through to resolution, serving statutory notices including Prohibition Notices, and working closely with landlords, tenants, and other stakeholders to improve housing standards across the borough.
To be considered, you must have proven experience within Private Sector Housing or Environmental Health, together with a strong working knowledge of the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS). Previous experience taking enforcement action and serving formal notices is essential. Time spent away from site inspections can be used for case management, report writing, database updates, and responding to correspondence.
