Our client requires an experienced Hostel Manager for the next 5 months to manage a hostel that accommodates households under the 1985 housing act. The role will operate on a shift rota that alternates weekly on either a 8am start or 12pm start for 5 days. Every 4/5 weeks, you will be required to work 10-6pm Saturday and Sunday.
It is quite a pressurised, sensitive environment where you will be working alone alongside the caretaker to ensure the building is kept clean and in accordance with health and safety requirements. You will likely be working with clients with specific support needs so you will need to be able to manage their expectations in respect of finding suitable housing.
To carry out this role you will need experience in a similar capacity and you should have a solid understanding of the pressures faced within local authority re-housing teams. You will need to be patient with good communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
The role is based in East London and will pay £24/hr.
