Head of Service for Environmental Health/Public Pr

Our client, based in Central/West London are looking for a Head of Service for Environmental Health/Public Protection to work in conjunction with the Strategic Lead for Environmental Health and Regulatory Services, other senior managers, other council services and with Cabinet and Lead Members, to ensure effective delivery and long-term planning of key council and departmental and divisional priorities.

A full brief can be provided however it is crucial that you have Local Authority experience of providing leadership, direction and management for two or more of the following statutory functions: Food Safety; Health & Safety; Licensing; Markets; Noise and Nuisance; Private Sector Housing; or Trading Standards. It is also crucial that you have expert legal knowledge and first-hand experience of a wide range of criminal and/or civil laws, legal proceedings, legal powers and enforcement practices and sanction as well as good knowledge of the political and environmental context and impact of the work and statutory responsibilities, of services, at local authority, regional and national level

If successful you will be offered a 3 month initial contract however this will likely be extended. We are happy to submit CVs with rates attached however we would expect a role like this be paying £400-£500 Umbrella per day.
