Our client is looking for an accomplished Head of Regulatory Services for the next 4-6 months and will consider those who only want part time work if that is preferred. The role is also available full time. The role covers 5 teams all involved in public protection and regulation:- Environmental Health & Pest Control, Trading Standards & Licensing, Community Safety, Building Control and Parking. The current Head of Service has been redeployed to help manage Covid related issues and as such there is an opportunity for you to join during this time. The key task will be to keep lead the services mentioned, helping to steer the ship over the next few months as restrictions ease and demands on the individual services begin to return to normal levels. An all rounder would be perfect but anyone who is an expert in one of the service areas mentioned and can demonstrate a proven managerial track record will be considered a strong applicant and is advised to apply. Critical to the role will be your communication skills and ability to quickly slot into the role. The service has obviously been under some difficult conditions the past year and they need someone with an awareness of the issues and challenges they face with service delivery. Support will be available to you from the existing management team but you will also be expected to assume the full responsibilities assigned to a Head of Service role.
The rate will be £400-£500 per day and the role is based with an authority just outside Manchester (South West side).
