Our client is a local authority based in Surrey. They are currently restructuring their team and need to appoint an Interim Head of Green Space for a minimum 6 month period.
You will manage operational and strategic functions across the portfolio including parks and open spaces, cemeteries, allotments, play areas, sports pitches and arboriculture. As a key appointment in the managerial team you will make a significant contribution to service design and you will have full opportunity to shape, develop and enhance future services.
You will work with other managers within Environmental / Street Scene Services to help manage resources and ensure an effective, efficient and proactive approach to service delivery. You will help ensure efficiencies and cost savings are managed to ensure best value.
We are looking for an established manager who can lead teams and is comfortable organising and delegating work. You will need some knowledge of the areas mentioned and you will need a track record in delivering service improvement and change programmes of work. You will need to be able to work well under pressure and you will need excellent communication skills.
Our client is offering a rate of at least £250/day (inside IR35).
