Full Description

Our client as an urgent requirement to recruit a Head of Community Safety and Corporate Resilience.

The role has 2 fundamental functions:

1 - To promote community safety, engagement and empowerment, and to build resilience within and among communities, particularly in relation to Anti-Social Behaviour, vulnerability to exploitation and low-level criminality. This include having due regard to the need to prevent people from being drawn into terrorism.

2- To build corporate resilience across the organisation, ensuring that Council services have in place relevant plans to deal with service disruption and that the Council meet its obligations under the Civil Contingencies Act 2004.

You will be required to develop and implement policies for responding to emergencies which will include maintaining all necessary partnership arrangements with Category 1 and 2 responders and leading the work with public sector partners, local residents and other stakeholders.

On a daily basis you will be working with colleagues across the Council to ensure that an Emergency Plan and corporate Business Continuity Management Plan are produced, reviewed and amended in accordance with the agreed cycle. You will have a key role to play in rolling out new policy and working to ensure that all directorates within the Council comply with the requirements.

For this role we are looking for an established senior manager who has operated at this level before and has the gravitas to lead and influence others across departments. Given the specialist nature of the role, previous experience in similar capacity or certainly within a regulated service is essential.

Our client will offer an initial 4-6 month contract which will very likely extend given the longevity of the work programme and the core objectives of the role.

The day rate is £550 (inside IR35).

Closing date 17th April.
