As Head of Commercial Estates you will essentially serve to provide leadership, operational management and financial control for the planning, delivery and commercial management of our client’s commercial estate portfolio; our client is Local Authority in East London.
You will seek out opportunity to maximise income and financial return to the Council, working to ensure a safe and legally compliant Commercial Estate programme that supports the delivery of social, economic and regeneration objectives from Council assets.
In this role you will lead on delivering responses to complex, politically sensitive issues so high level negotiation and communication skills are essential. We are looking for someone who has operated at a senior level within a Local Authority management team.
You will have a very active role in developing service plans and you will make full use of your proven leadership skills to inspire and motivate those around you. You will be expected to implement an appropriate risk management strategy and provide guidance to other service areas of the Council. The role will have direct line management responsibility and a budget in excess of £4m per annum.
To be successful you will need to demonstrate previous experience in a similar capacity. You will need substantial experience of relationship management, including providing robust challenges and working with providers to deliver improvements.
The day rate on offer will be £500-£600 day (negotiable). The role is inside IR35. The initial contract will be 3-6 months and could possibly extend beyond this.
