Our client is a food production company that operates from 2 units in South West London. 1 is responsible for cold food prep, the other hot food. Their business is focused on Mediterranean food (pasta, pesto, sauces) with a headcount of around 12-14 staff across both facilities. Your primary location will be in Battersea.
They are looking to expand operations and as part of their plan they are seeking the SALSA food accreditation. As QA / Food Safety Manager they will need you to lead and implement this process, producing all required documentation and Health and Safety protocol to be adhered to across the business.
Joining a busy and growing organisation will give you the opportunity to take ownership of this newly created role and you will be expected to offer your advice and ideas on steps to help improve operations.
The role is likely to suit someone with some solid work experience in a QA / QC role within a food manufacturer. It is not absolutely essential you have experience of the specific food types mentioned.
The ideal candidate will be someone who is now looking to take more ownership of their role and work closely with the senior management team to drive the business forward. You will be someone who enjoys a challenge, is confident and keen to make a valuable contribution. The role will see you working closely with third party client organisations so you will need to be comfortable with this aspect of the role.
The standard working week is 40 hours with some weekend working and flexibility required as you'd expect in a business of this nature.
Our client is looking to offer between £30-£35,000 which reflects the level of experience this role is aimed at. We would encourage those with slightly higher salary expectations to still apply as we may have some room for negotiation.
