We have a food premises inspection contract in place with a client in Buckinghamshire which we will shortly be looking to resume and we require additional Inspectors. We expect the total project will be around 300-400 inspections and we may need as many as 50% covering which can be split up amongst multiple Inspectors if needs be.
At the moment we are operating under an amended inspection protocol to account for additional safety measures in respect of Covid-19. Ahead of visiting a premises our client will ask you to call ahead and, if necessary request copies of documentation alongside some information in response to a set of questions relating to food safety practices. This will be followed by a site inspection.
A high proportion of the current workload will he home based businesses so you will be able to make an appointment. Following site visit you will complete inspection paperwork in the usual way and return to the client for them to complete the data input task.
To carry out this work you will need extensive experience operating as a local authority Food Safety Inspector / Officer; the role would not suit those with experience in the private sector, it is essential that you have recent local authority inspection experience. We will need evidence of your competency (CPD record / qualifications / competency assessment document).
The work programme is flexible and we do not need full time commitment. We will allocate a number of inspections based on your own individual circumstances. We will pay £51 per inspection depending on the category.
