Our client is looking to appoint a food qualified Environmental Health Officer to work on a flexible contract likely to require 10-20 hours per week over the next 2-4 months as they look to resume their full inspection programme. Eventually there may be scope for full time hours or transfer to an inspection based contract but there is no obligation and for now they are looking for the reduced hours commitment.
You will provide assistance with a range of duties but primarily you will focus on carrying out food premises inspections where you are able to. You can expect to be working under slightly different conditions to usual, as per FSA guidance and the Council's safety policy. Inspections are likely to be a mixture of remote working from home followed by a site visit to check compliance.
You will need to be mobile with access to a vehicle for work purposes. You will need to be happy to work under a flexible arrangement whereby your schedule will be planned week by week. It may not be possible to work the same days every week.
Our client is in Oxfordshire and whilst you will largely be home based you will need to be prepared to go into the office if required. The rate will be around £32-£35/hr (umbrella). The role is inside IR35.
