We are recruiting on behalf of a local authority in Hertfordshire for an experienced Food and Health & Safety Team Leader to join their service on an initial 12-week contract, with competitive market rates on offer and potential for extension. Hybrid working may be available, subject to service needs.
The role will involve leading and managing a team delivering food safety and health & safety regulatory functions, ensuring statutory compliance and consistent service delivery. Duties include workload allocation, technical oversight, quality assurance of inspections and enforcement activity, and supporting performance management.
Candidates must have substantial experience in Food Safety and Health & Safety within a UK local authority, along with proven team leadership or management experience. A qualification in Environmental Health, EHRB registration, and strong knowledge of relevant legislation are essential, alongside the ability to manage priorities effectively.
