Our client in West London are looking to recruit two Environmental Health Officers who specialise in Food Safety or Health and Safety enforcement work. In either role you will be focused on working with local businesses which will likely include manufacturers so our client is really looking for those with previous experience working with these kind of organisations.
You will be carrying out inspections and compliance checking and producing reports and recommendations as required. Where necessary you will carry out enforcement activity. The food role will focus on food safety intervention work and will work to an active programme in line with the Council's work plan. The H&S role will be similar but may be more reactive with you being required to respond to service requests and carry out accident investigations.
For either role you must be comfortable carrying out work across the district and travelling to and working out on various sites around the Borough.
The roles are well paid, between £35-£40/hr and the initial contract will be 3 months with a very good chance of extension.
The client is willing to consider paying on a per inspection basis if you prefer.
