Our client, based in Bedfordshire are looking for someone to come in and provide comment on relevant planning applications on behalf of this Council's environmental health service as a statutory consultee. This is to determine any environmental impact that may reasonably result from the application. This will require to determination of numerous factors and information contained in the application that may include, noise assessment, contaminated land assessment, lighting assessment, neighbour objections, ecology statements and heritage issues.
The successful candidate will have suitable experience and competence to determine such applications, particularly a competence in acoustics. Whilst the majority of applications are basic, there are frequently more complex issues, and therefore turnaround times will differ depending on the nature and complexity of an application. Timescales will be agreed on a case by case basis. The work will last for an initial period of 6 weeks. The number of weekly applications received can differ and depends on the time of year and it will likely be 15-20 hours a week.
The successful candidate will be paid £40-£45PH LTD and this work can be carried out alongside other work.
