Full Description
We are working with a Local Authority in Nottinghamshire who are seeking an experienced Environmental Protection Manager to lead their Environmental Protection service. You will manage a team of three officers, oversee statutory functions, and ensure compliance across areas such as pollution control, noise, air quality, contaminated land, and statutory nuisances. The role will also involve developing environmental strategies and engaging with councillors, stakeholders, and the public to drive forward sustainable initiatives.
The successful candidate will have a strong background in environmental protection within a Local Authority setting, with in-depth knowledge of environmental legislation and enforcement. You’ll be confident managing staff, leading investigations, and providing professional advice at a senior level. Strong communication skills, stakeholder engagement experience, and the ability to deliver projects effectively are essential.
In return, the council is offering an interim contract in Nottinghamshire at £400–£450 per day (inside IR35), with flexibility of 3–5 days per week on offer. This is a great opportunity to step into a leadership role, make a tangible impact within the community, and shape the delivery of environmental protection services while managing a dedicated and professional team.
