Full Description

Our client, based in Hertfordshire is looking to appoint an experienced CIEH qualified officer to take on a caseload of proactive and reactive complaint handling, licensing, registration and enforcement work to meet statutory and service requirements in relation to HMOs, poor housing conditions, empty homes and private mobile home sites. Depending on your level of experience you may also be involved with enforcement and prosecution cases. Fundamentally you will serve to ensure that housing standards comply with current legislation guidelines and that landlords are adhering to environmental legislation in relation to rented private sector housing.

To apply for this role it is absolutely essential that you hold the HHSRS qualification, an Environmental Health Degree and have recent work experience carrying out inspections under this framework. Our client has expressed that it would be desirable if you are also EHORB Registered. You will need to be fully conversant with the latest legislation and best practice guidelines within private sector housing. You will need to be confident dealing with the general public and in negotiating and dealing with landlords under difficult circumstances to work with them to address issues raised by tenants.

As mentioned, the role will run for an initial 3 month period starting in September. The role is for 2-3 days per week and your rates will be dependent upon your qualifications and experience; they will be £27-£30PH LTD.
