Environmental Health Officer/Technical Officer - Pollution/Public Health

Our client, based in East London, is looking for a Pollution Control Officer to work in a busy team dealing with Special Projects & Contaminated Land enforcement developments. You will be primarily reviewing contaminated land related information submitted through the planning regime while also assisting with the development of guidance for contaminated land while also Progressing contaminated land enforcement projects.

To be successful you must have the ability to review desk study, site investigation, remedial action plan and verification reporting to a high level in line with best practice and succinctly and accurately respond to the planning authority with appropriate advice. You must also be able to write letters, reports and guidance to a high level and also manage own work load. Knowledge of MapInfo (or similar package) is vital and you must have experience of carrying out similar work for other local authorities.

If successful you will be offered a 4 month contract (likely to be extended) paying up to £28PH LTD. This job will give the right person the opportunity to build experience working in contaminated land. While the main part of the job is delivering planning related work, there are opportunities to get involved in delivering a number of planning and contaminated land related projects. This includes the contaminated land planning enforcement project and developing guidance aimed at developers and consultants.
