Our client in South London is looking for an experienced Environmental Enforcement Officer to join the team there. The main purpose of the role will be to carry out environmental enforcement activity across the borough including (but not limited to), fly-tipping, littering, dog fouling, unlicensed street trading, commercial waste enforcement, enforcement of Public Spaces Protection Orders (PSPO).
The post-holder will be required to utilise the relevant statutory provisions to respond to a wide range of offending behaviour; working closely with other teams within Community Safety and the council in order to achieve the council's objectives. The post holder will also be required to deliver planned activity outside of normal office hours (21 hours per month)
It is essential that you have demonstrable experience of working with partners across voluntary, statutory, community and business sectors. You will be dealing with people from all walks of life so it is essential that you have excellent communication andt ake time to understand business needs and priorities and their implications on other residents and businesses in the area.
This assignment is due to start at the beginning of Feb, will run for an itial 3 month period and will be 35 hours per week. The pay rate for this role is £20 - £24/hour umbrella.
