Full Description
Our client based in Devon is looking for an Officer to undertake food hygiene inspections only, to support delivery of the 2025/26 FSA Code of Practice inspection programme. This is a full-time requirement, however part-time will be considered for the right person. The role is to start ASAP and will run until 31 March 2026, with any potential extension subject to review nearer the end date.
The Officer must be food competent in accordance with FSA requirements, local to Devon, and have access to a car, as they will be required to work within the District a minimum of four days per week. One admin day per week may be considered and can be worked from home. Previous experience using NEC Assure would be an advantage, and the Officer must be willing and able to use a tablet for mobile inspections via the Merlin system.
This role requires you to be fully compliant within EH Food. Our client can only consider those who hold the following:
•Higher Certificate in Food Control awarded by the Environmental Health Registration Board (EHRB) or CIEH
•Higher Certificate in Official Control awarded by the Scottish Food Safety Officers Registration Board (SFSORB)
•A Certificate of Registration awarded by the EHRB to practice as an Environmental Health Practitioner
•A Diploma in Environmental Health awarded by the EHRB or the REHIS
•Advanced Professional Certificate in Food Hygiene and Standards Control (APC) awarded by CIEH
•Degree in Environmental Health
•Masters Degree in Environmental Health
This is an hourly-paid role, inside IR35, offering a rate of £50 per hour umbrella. Mileage will be reimbursed in line with standard applicable rates.
