Full Description

Our client in East London are asking to find an Officer that will ideally be a fully qualified EHO who has extensive experience in statutory nuisance; response, gathering evidence, case management, formal enforcement action. This will be the main part of the role. The officers experience is the most important aspect of this, as we really need an officer who can hit the ground running and so would only need training in the way that we work at the Council.

They would also like the officer to have experience with the pollution aspects of construction sites and the Control of Pollution Act including OOH noisy works. The department also enforces the Clean Air Act, investigates some cases using Anti-Social Crime & Policing Act (CPW/N).

The role is solely for a daytime officer as they have a contract for the OOH service. Office hours are 0900 – 1700 hours Monday through Friday, however, they do tend to work flexibly in the team and the majority work condensed hours (working 4 days per week on a rota basis, 0900 – 1900) to meet up with the OOH service.

At the moment generally officers go into the office one day per week for Response, but on some occasions an officer may need to undertake Response more than once per week or go into the office on other days dependent needs of the service. The other three days officers are generally working from home. However, this will need to be flexible as the way they work may change due to the demands of the service and changes with the pandemic. In summary, they would ideally like someone who is flexible in this respect.

Also, they would generally expect that upon starting the officer would be in the office for at least the first two weeks getting training on the departments procedures and ways of working.

The role will initially be for 3 months however it is thought this will be extended.
