Our client, based in South London are looking for someone to come in on a part time basis and provide comment on relevant planning applications on behalf of this Council's environmental health service as a statutory consultee. They need an Officer to deal with planning consultations with knowledge and experience in respect of the specific areas acoustics undertake Pollution Control work relating to Planning Consultations covering noise, air quality, and contaminated land, respond to inquiries and complaints relating to smoke control, etc (not nuisance). Undertake research/collaboration to perform the LA's responsibilities in relation to Air Quality. The nature of this role, upon discussion with the team Manager, is flexible and could be undertaken remotely.
The successful candidate will have suitable experience and competence to determine such applications, particularly a competence in acoustics. Whilst the majority of applications are basic, there are frequently more complex issues, and therefore turnaround times will differ depending on the nature and complexity of an application. Timescales will be agreed on a case by case basis. The work will last for an initial period of 6 months.
Ideally they are looking for someone who will be remote with some access to the authority when needed however if you can do this work 100% remotely then you will still be considered.
The successful candidate will be paid £35PH Umbrella and this is inside IR35. They are looking for 10-20 hours per week.
