Our local authority client in Nottinghamshire has an excellent opportunity for an experienced Environmental Health Officer to undertake HMO Inspections and residential complaints work.
This contract is to cover deal with all work within the private sector housing team especially complaints about housing standards from tenants and completing house inspections and schedules and follow up work as needed.
You will liaise with tenants, landlords, and other agencies, and have the opportunity and support to use the range of powers available to you to improve the housing standards and living conditions of some of the most vulnerable people in our communities. You will be expected to carry out inspections, re-inspections and surveys and to be responsible for the investigation, enforcement and manage a caseload, to consult/negotiate with developers, landlords, contractors, business and other clients as appropriate, to ensure progress of casework. To carry out site visits, surveys, inspections and to attend Public Inquiries, courts of law, and tribunals.
Ideally you will be EHORB Registered but it is not essential. You will have to demonstrate that you have good housing enforcement skills as you will be dealing with problematic landlords.
The client is offering £39-£45PH LTD and a contract that will see you, initially until the end of April 2020 but this could get extended.
