Our client requires a qualified Environmental Health Officer to undertake a role as a Private Sector Housing Officer and have involvement with carrying out inspections, re-inspections and surveys relative to private sector housing and having responsibility to carry out investigations and enforcement and management of their own caseload. You will be required to prepare and serve Statutory Notices and take enforcement action in line with the Councils strategy and on a regular basis you will be required to report and/or advise where statutory action is not appropriate and to initiate prosecutions for failure to comply with statutory instruments.
To apply for this role you will need to have significant work experience in the field and an excellent working knowledge of current legislation relevant to work in this profession. You will need to be able to confidently and competently manage a busy case load and make informed decisions on action to be taken; good communication skills are essential. The suitable person would be an experienced and competent environmental health officer specializing in housing and public health, who can drive, and access to own car.
The role will be offered for a minimum of 3 months the rate on offer is up to £29 per hour.
