Our local authority client is seeking experienced inspection officers to complete 200 Mandatory HMO property inspections; we anticipate we may need 2 but it could be a 1 person job if you have enough availability.
You will be inspecting 4-6 bed HMOs which have already received their licence. You'll assess housing conditions and amenity standards using the HHSRS guidelines. You will record defects with measurements and photographs and check permitted occupancy.
Where identified, you will flag urgent safety concerns (gas, electrical, safeguarding) to a named council contact. Full enforcement action will be conducted by the Council; your task will simply focus on scheduling and carrying out the inspection.
To be considered you will need to have proven experience inspecting HMOs of the scale mentioned above. You'll need strong written and spoken communication skills for dealing with landlords, agents and occupants, plus the ability to keep accurate electronic records.
Hours are 9am to 5.30pm Monday to Friday, with some early (8am) and late (7pm) inspection days each month.
We expect to pay around £150 per inspection.
