Our client in Essex is seeking an experienced Environmental Health Officer to join their Housing & Pollution team on a temporary contract. This is a varied role where you’ll be responsible for HMO licensing, inspecting properties for HHSRS compliance, undertaking enforcement action, and responding to complaints relating to nuisance, filthy or verminous premises, contaminated land, and permitted processes. You’ll also contribute to planning and licensing consultations and support the delivery of local public health initiatives.
To be successful, you’ll need proven experience in HMO licensing, HHSRS enforcement, and statutory nuisance investigations is essential, along with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage a busy and varied caseload effectively.
