Manchester City Airport currently have 2 temporary agency posts that have become available working for in the Food, Health and Safety and Airport Team.
x1 Agency vacancy for 3 months full time based on 35 hours per week.
x1 Agency vacancy for 5 months part time based on 17 ½ hours per week.
This is an exciting opportunity to get involved with a busy city based team with a wide range of premises and a varied workload.
We require candidates that have suitable experience to undertake food safety and standards inspections, re-visits, identify where enforcement action is required and escalate where necessary to existing staff and also respond to customer service requests.
You will be responsible for a busy and varied workload in a friendly and supportive team, focussing on inspection programmes, responding to service requests, undertaking investigations and sampling. You will work across food hygiene, food standards and health and safety disciplines.
You will be expected to complete inspection reports, establish and allocate food hygiene ratings and prepare schedules of work for food business operators. You will also be expected to investigate complaints relating to poor food hygiene practices and advise business on improvements and update customers.
Candidates must have experience of undertaking food hygiene inspections and responding to service requests. Food standards and health and safety experience is desirable. Candidates must have obtained an Environmental Health Board of Registration Certificate (EHRB)/CIEH Registered status. Experience of Health and Safety enforcement work is desirable but not essential. Where a successful candidate does not have health and safety experience/competence - the role and rate of pay will be adjusted accordingly.
Duration - x1 for 3 months and x1 for 5 months
Pay Rate - between £35 -£40 per hour. The upper limit will be for candidates who can also undertake Health and Safety work.
Location: Currently a mix of home working/on site and office based

Environmental Health Officer/Environmental Health Practitioner/Food Safety Officer
You will complete all relevant details for service requests and related activities in the council's Civica Flare system.
It is essential that you have significant experience and competency in food hygiene work and are able to work to a high standard with minimal supervision.
The minimum requirements for the post are: -
- Be an EHRB/CIEH registered EHO/EHP/Food Safety Officer/Practitioner
- Achieve and documented food competency in-line with the Food Law Code of Practice.
- Up to date CPD records
You will be expected to fully comply with council procedures and FSA Code of Practice and Practice Guidance requirements.
