A Central London–based Council is seeking a qualified Environmental Health Officer to support its Private Sector Housing Reactive Team. The role focuses on responding to residential complaints and ensuring timely, effective resolution through inspections and enforcement activity.
Key responsibilities include undertaking on-site assessments, applying housing legislation, issuing formal notices where required, and managing a varied caseload independently. Candidates must hold an HHSRS Certificate, an Environmental Health degree, and have proven experience working with private sector housing issues within a similar role.
The position offers a pay rate of £45 per hour, working full-time, Monday to Friday, on a hybrid basis (predominantly office-based with 1–2 days remote). The contract is due to start in February and will run until the end of May, making it ideal for an experienced officer available at short notice.
