Our client is looking to fill a role that will be a combination of education work within the local community and waste enforcement related work. They are implementing some changes to their service delivery model and to support this they need people to carry out some doorstep education work to inform residents of the change and how it will effect them. Specifically, there will be a move to fortnightly waste collections as of 1st March which will need a significant change in behaviour from residents of the Borough,.
You will provide a visible presence across the borough and be deployed on an area basis to understand and address localised problems and challenge and change behaviours achieving a safer, greener and cleaner borough. As required you will conduct enforcement related work which could include issuing Fixed Penalty Notices.
To fulfil the role of Education and Enforcement Officer we are looking for those with a background in local authority waste / enviro enforcement work. Given the public facing nature of this role, especially in the current climate, you will need to have excellent communication skills and demonstrate patience and professionalism in dealing with service users.
The roles are based in East London, expected to last at least 6 months and will pay around £18-£19/hr (umbrella). Standard week is 36 hours.
