Our client, based in Derbyshire are looking for a DFG Officer to assist in the administration of Disabled Facilities Grants (DFG) and other grants/loan services to improve housing conditions within the council. They have a permanent member of staff who is long term sick so they are looking for someone to cover for 3 days per week. You will be on district 2 days per week so there is some working from home when not out and about.
You will be asked to undertake visits to client’s home to facilitate the adaptations and application process, inspect the property and provide advice about the feasibility of adaptations, benefits, the application process and timescales involved. Some of these visits will be made jointly with the OT. You will also be undertaking analysis of returned contract tenders for works, and recommending acceptance or otherwise, manage queries, issue contract instructions and monitor works to ensure adherence to specifications, and legislation.
To ideal candidate will have knowledge of filling out Grant applications, experience signing off disabled adaptions as complete and experience in DFG meetings.
If successful you will be offered a 6 month contract paying £35-£40PH Umbrella.
