Our client, a Local Authority in Staffordshire, is looking for an experienced DFG Service Manager to support the efficient and effective delivery of their Disabled Facilities Grant and Adaptations Service, including managing and reducing an existing adaptations backlog, on a contract running to 31 March 2027. You'll lead the operational delivery of the service, managing performance, compliance, budgets and grant expenditure, overseeing procurement activities and contractor frameworks, and driving service improvement, efficiency and process redesign. The role also involves supporting the delivery of adaptation programmes and statutory obligations, working closely with Occupational Therapists, technical staff, contractors and senior stakeholders.
Candidates should have significant experience managing a DFG or adaptations service within a local authority or housing provider, with a strong understanding of DFG legislation, grant administration and governance requirements. You'll need experience of procurement, contract management and performance management, along with a demonstrable ability to improve processes and deliver high-performing, customer-focused services. A proven track record of reducing waiting lists or backlogs is essential, as is experience managing multidisciplinary teams and reporting to senior management, elected members or governance boards. Experience delivering service transformation and process redesign is also expected. An Enhanced DBS is required for this role.
