Full Description

Fundamentally this role exists to ensure reactive major repairs are delivered to a high standard of quality, that time and cost is managed and compliance is monitored and controlled. The role sits within our clients Housing Repairs and Improvements team and will require you to organise and oversee site inspection programmes in connection with the management of a number of work programmes.

As a Contract Manager you will be expected to manage schemes end to end with the ability to take a complex design through to conclusion and understand the links and dependencies between various elements of construction and building services. On a day to day basis you will manage and control work in progress to make sure that works are carried out in accordance with required standards or regulations and within the agreed cost and timescale. Where contractors are not meeting these requirements you will take appropriate management action and escalate as appropriate.

To carry out this role you will need an excellent knowledge of local authority social housing contracts. You will need appropriate construction related qualifications. The role could involve climbing ladders and inspections from scaffolding so you must be comfortable with this. A full JD is available on request.

The role is based in Central London and will pay around £31/hr (umbrella).
