Our client is a Local Authority in Essex, located fairly close to Stansted Airport (35 mins away). They have a portfolio of 9000 Council Homes and an a very ambitious programme to invest in their stock, with a projected spend of c£50m this year.
They are looking to appoint 2 Construction Procurement Managers who will sit within the Property Team and have responsibility for working closely with the procurement function to manage the production of tender documents, oversee the tender process and write approval reports for a range of capital schemes.
Projects will vary from from low value to large scale and they will be released via an open tender process which you will help manage from end to end. Specifically you will be working with the Head of Pre-Construction and the Head of Delivery to formulate the pipeline programme and devise an appropriate contract strategy and route to market.
We are looking for those with a proven track record in this space as you will need to have an excellent understanding of Local Authority procurement processes.
This role requires a ‘hands on’ operational approach to the role rather than a strategic lead so you will need to be willing to undertake this role within the team. It is essential that you can attend the office on a regular basis and we are looking for someone who is available to start on short notice.
The day rate is £500/day (inside IR35) and the contract is expected to be 12 months.
