Full Description

Our Client in South East London is looking to appoint a Compliance Officer (Enforcement) to join the team there and help deliver a high quality service, with the aim of improving the local environment by ensuring the operation of the borough's street trading, dealing with illegal street trading, business waste and enforcement at street markets and at sites across the wider borough.

Some of your key duties and responsibilities will be as follows:

To carry out all duties in accordance with the licencing procedures for street trading within the borough which will include
To ensure compliance by all street traders to the terms and conditions of street trading within the borough.
To visit locations throughout the borough where issues have been reported by office or via members of the public in order to monitor compliance. This will include challenging unlicenced traders and enforcing, issuing of FPN & liaising with crime enforcement officers To make detailed, accurate notes of findings.
Supervise market and other areas as required, to monitor, record and report upon market and street trading activities and to maintain a visible presence dealing with enquiries and conflict as they arise.

For this assignment you will have frequent dealings with the general public and street traders, therefore you must demonstrate a high level of communication and have exceptional conflict resolution skills. It is also essential that you have awareness of relevant legislation and practices within a Market Trading/Commercial Waste or other enforcement/regulatory environment.

This assignment will run for an initial 3 month period with the chance of an extension at the end. The working pattern will be shift work covering weekdays and weekends. The rate of pay for this role will be £20 per hour (umbrella)
